The song ‘Bejrut’, a setting of a poem by John Aquilina by Maltese composer Alex Vella Gregory, will be premiered by Bulgarian soprano Andriana Yordanova. The concert will be held on the 24th June 2019 in the Chamber Hall of the Bulgaria Concert Hall in Sofia. Andriana Yordanova is a Bulgarian soprano based in Malta who has championed both Bulgarian and Maltese repertoire, as well as being a distinguished vocal teacher. She will be presenting a recital of vocal music that includes other Maltese composers such as Nicolò Isouard and Paolino Vassallo as well as works by Bulgarian composer Pancho Vladigerov. She will be accompanied by Rostislav Yovchev, one of Bulgaria’s most respected pianists and pedagogues.
